Bianca Odinakachukwu Olivia Odumegwu-Ojukwu, formerly Onoh, is a politician, diplomat, attorney, and entrepreneur from Nigeria. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, a former president of Biafra, was her late husband. The first African to win Miss Intercontinental, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is a multiple international pageant champion who also won Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 1988 and Miss Africa. She was formerly a presidential advisor and served as Nigeria’s ambassador to Ghana before moving to Spain in 2012.
FAMILY LIFE
Anambra State, in the southeast of Nigeria, is where Bianca was born on August 5, 1968. Bianca, who was born the sixth child of her parents’ adult children, grew up in a Middle-class home. Her mother Carol Onoh was a college president at the time, and her father Christian Onoh served as the previous governor of Anambra. Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the first president of Biafra while it was a distinct country, was the man she was married to. Bianca married her devoted spouse in 1994, and after he passed away in 2011, their marriage came to an end. But Ikemba Odumegwu-Ojukwu had three kids with her before he passed away. She is the only woman in her area to possess the highest chieftaincy title, in addition to several other traditional titles.
EDUCATION
She had her schooling at the esteemed Ackworth School in Pontefract, St Andrews College in Cambridge, and Cambridge Tutorial College. Bianca Ojukwu graduated from these schools with A-levels. Her time at the university was short-lived, though, because her father demanded she pursue a career in law. As instructed by her father, Bianca returned to Nigeria to finish her education. There, she was admitted to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she completed her undergraduate studies and earned a law degree.
CAREER
Bianca Ojukwu, the wife of the head of state, has won both Miss Africa and the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in international pageants. She is the first African to win Miss Intercontinental, and she currently holds the title. Prior to becoming Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain in 2012, she served as a presidential advisor and as the nation’s ambassador to Ghana. Then-President Goodluck Jonathan named Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu his Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs in 2011. In 2012, she was appointed Nigeria’s ambassador to Ghana, and she later served as envoy to the Kingdom of Spain. She graduated with a master’s in international relations and diplomacy in 2016 from Spain’s Alfonso X el Sabio University. Nigeria’s permanent representative to the UN World Tourism Organization is now Bianca Ojukwu.
PAGEANTRY
Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who had previously won Miss Martini, was named Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in December 1988, although she held the title for the majority of 1989. Before representing her nation in Miss World in Hong Kong and Miss Universe in Mexico, she previously won the Miss Africa 1989 pageant held in the Gambia. The following year, she won Miss Intercontinental and was named Miss Congeniality at the now-defunct Miss Charm International in Russia, where she also placed in the semifinals. This led to even greater success for her.
DIPLOMACY
President Goodluck Jonathan named Odumegwu-Ojukwu Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs in 2011. She later served as Nigeria’s ambassador to Ghana in 2012 and the Kingdom of Spain in 2013. The Alfonso X el Sabio University in Spain awarded Odumegwu-Ojukwu a master’s degree in international relations and diplomacy in 2016. She currently serves as Nigeria’s permanent representative to the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations.

CONTROVERSY
The press exposed Odumegwu-covert Ojukwu’s relationship with Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, a former head of state of Biafra who was thirty years her elder and a political ally of her father, in 1989, around halfway through her tenure as MBGN. In the early 1990s, their contentious relationship was a hot topic in the nation. She resigned as Miss Intercontinental as the great pressure of living under the spotlight became intolerable because her first priority was finishing law school. After eventually earning her degree in 1994, she wed the former president of Biafra in a spectacular ceremony conducted in Abuja.
Her husband passed away in 2012, and his will, which gave her the majority of his assets, caused a lot of conflict and resentment among various family members. AWARDS
Odumegwu-Ojukwu was recognized with a Certificate of Merit by El Mundo Diplomatico for her work in creating forums that effectively foster positive contact between Nigeria and Spain. In 2014, the Dutch magazine The Voice named her Africa’s Outstanding Ambassador. At its Silver Jubilee celebration in 2016, the Anambra State government in Nigeria also presented her with the “Ambassador of Excellence” Award.
POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS
Her late husband Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu formed the All Progressives Grand Alliance, a political party that has ruled Anambra State for more than ten years. She is a member of the organization’s board of trustees. Due to irregularities that took place during her party’s primary elections, her campaign to represent her senate district in 2018 came to a standstill.
