ICT COMPANIES IN NIGERIA
Informing and communicating are age-long attributes of human existence. For this reason, there has always been a need to ensure relatively effective communication irrespective of the age of human existence.
The methodologies of information dissemination constantly evolve from generation to generation. There was a time when the use of town criers, writing of letters, and the post office box was the most popular methods of communication.
But from the 20th century, the old-fashioned communication methods were gradually becoming obsolete with the introduction of digital computing. This technological revolution has influenced the world, and the effect of this is evident in the number of persons with either a smartphone or a system. Also, this development has seemingly changed the perspective of the world from the large entity separated by distance to a “Global Village”.
Nigeria as a country is not left behind in this technological revolution. Although the citizens have not fully adapted to the development, the rate of ICT compliance is gradually on the increase. This would not be achievable without the ICT companies operating in the country. Hence, this article was written to enlighten readers like you on the ICT companies operating within the country.
WHAT IS ICT?
ICT is the acronym for Information and Communications Technology. ICT could be defined as the methods employed in the processing and communication of information through the use of technological tools. It could also be defined as the different forms of technologies that could be used in the creation, transmission, storage, and exchange of information.
Irrespective of the approach used in defining ICT, a common denominator in all definitions is information, effective communication, and the utility of technological devices. ICT is a broad field consisting of animation, digital illustration, software and network engineering, and many other branches.
It also cuts across telecommunication companies, system manufacturing companies, and hubs where software activities could be carried out. Interestingly, adapting to the ICT trend is not necessarily dependent on whether one is Science or Art inclined. Rather, it depends on the level of commitment one shows in the training process. Also, about 90% of the ICT skills could be learned through the internet; this makes the learning process easier and faster.
