Globacom Limited is a multinational telecommunication company founded by Mike Adenuga in 2003. With its head office in Nigeria, it is the second-largest mobile network provider. 9mobile was founded in 2017 after the exit of Etisalat. Etisalat Nigeria is a subsidiary of Etisalat from the United Arab Emirates. Etisalat exited the Nigerian telecommunication market due to its inability to service an outstanding loan –a loan of $1.2 billion, which was incurred during its early years in the country. It’s not all bad, though. Since its establishment, 9mobile has been providing fast and reliable telecom services to its customers. It is well known for its fast internet service. 9mobile originates from the first set of numbers Etisalat issued to its customers (0809…) and from the slogan 0809ja (reads oh-eight-oh nine-ja).

Airtel Nigeria has taken a lot of names and identities over the years. First, it was V mobile; then it became Celtel, then Zain, and now it is rebranded as Airtel Nigeria. The telecommunication company has seen many owners and administrations over the years. Bharti Airtel from India owns Airtel Nigeria. Airtel Nigeria is a subsidiary of Airtel Africa. NTel was launched in 2016 following the acquisition of the core telecom assets of NiTel/Mtel – Nigeria’s national fixed and mobile operators. Their service is limited to only three cities in Nigeria, namely: Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. NTel provided a 4G LTE network with up to 230 Mbps to their customers. NTel uses the 900/1800 MHz spectrum with the international bandwidth, national bandwidth, fixed network, and mobile network. This telecom company, though relatively new, has become a pacesetter for other telecommunication companies.
