Ooni of Ife’s latest marriage: facts and public opinions
Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, also known as Ojájá II, was born on October 17, 1974. His parents are Prince John Oluropo Ogunwusi and Princess Margaret Wuraola Sidikatu Abegbe Ogunwusi. He is the third of their seven children.
Before attending Layola College in Ibadan from 1985 to 1991 and then St. Peter’s Secondary School in Ile Ife, Osun State, Oba Adeyeye attended Subuola Memorial Nursery and Primary School in Ibadan. The Polytechnic of Ibadan was the monarch’s place of higher learning, where he majored in accounting.
On October 26, 2015, Adeyeye beat out 21 other candidates for the stool. On December 7, 2015, he was installed as the 51st Ooni in Ile-Enuwa Ife’s Square. Adeyeye is a member of the Oranmiyan Dynasty’s ruling House of Giesi. Years before he was born, it was allegedly predicted that he would be born. As a result, he was given the name Enitan (a child of history).
Ooni of Ife’s marital history
1. His affairs with Omolara Olatunbosun
The Ooni, who was a teenager at the time, had a close relationship with Omolara Olatubosun in Ibadan, Oyo State, in the early 1990s. The couple gave birth to a female named Adeola Ogunwusi in May 1994.
Despite the fact that Adeola was born, the couple did not get married. In a statement she released in November, Olatubosun accused the Ooni of being non-existent while she reared Adeola by herself from infancy till the age of ten. The Ooni refuted Olatubosun’s assertions in the same manner as she had after the most recent marital accident.
2. His marriage to Bombata
Ogunwusi’s marriage to Adebukola Bombata took place in 2008, seven years before he was crowned Ooni of Ife and succeeded Oduduwa as the ancestor of the entire Yoruba race. Bombata’s failure to bear Ogunwusi a son and her conflict with Princess Adeola, who is Ogunwusi’s daughter from a teenage affair, are said to have shaken the marriage.
Bombata allegedly opposed Ogunwusi’s choice to ascend the king as well since she detested attention. The couple split up shortly after the prince was crowned king in 2015, and Bombata moved to the UK.
3. His marriage to Zaynab Otiti
Ooni Ogunwusi married Zaynab Otiti Obanor, also known as Olori Wuraola, for the second time in March 2016. Otiti was raised in Benin, the administrative centre of the Edo State. But the marriage came to an end when the queen filed for divorce in August 2017. There was a rumour that she had been the victim of domestic abuse, even though the cause of the divorce was never made public.
4. His marriage to Naomi Silekunola
A year later, Ogunwusi wed Naomi Silekunola, a 25-year-old prophetess who had founded the Akure, Ondo State-based En-Heralds Ministry, an interdenominational ministry. According to reports, Naomi began her ministry at the age of 18. Many questioned whether she would be able to handle the customary duties of the Ooni’s wife, who is seen as the defender of the Yoruba cultures and traditions, given her life as a gospel preacher.
After two years of waiting, she gave birth to Tadenikawo on November 18, 2020. “Before Tadenikawo, I had never been pregnant; according to the medical records, my son is the first pregnancy I have ever experienced. My niece is the woman who claims to be my daughter, Silekunola wrote in her divorce statement.
Oba Adeyeye’s latest marriage

After a few formalities at the palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, the Ooni of Ife married his new bride on Tuesday evening. It was also discovered that the Oba Ogunwusi’s siblings and the new queen’s siblings were both present at the private ceremony.
