Biography
The singer was born on April 22, 1997, making her 25 years old as of 2022. He was raised in Lagos’ Surulere neighborhood, where he was born and raised. After losing his mother while he was a very small child, he was raised by his father and grandmother. Oxlade was born and has lived the majority of his life in Lagos State. He was reared by his father and grandmother after losing his mother when he was a little child. He was accepted to study history and international studies at Lagos State University but left two years later. Naturally, his father took offense to this and ceased taking care of Oxlade’s necessities.
Music Career and Achievements
After the release of “Mamiwota” in 2018, A&R executive Bizzle Osikoya contacted Oxlade. The song came from the Bad Boy Blaq EP, which was distributed by the 100 Crowns and Chocolate City record labels. He agreed to work under The Plug’s management after his meeting with Bizzle. He then agreed to a record deal with Troniq Music and a publishing, licensing, and distribution agreement with The Plug Entertainment. Following her appearance at Davido’s City of David concert in Lagos, the singer saw an increase in popularity. He also served as Wizkid’s opening act at the London Star Boy Fest. Following the success of the program, Oxlade debuted the TG Omori–directed music video for Away for Troniq Music. He gained widespread popularity thanks to his song “Away,” which peaked at number 23 on the Nigerian music chart.
In 2020, the musician released his EP, “Oxygene.” Later, on September 3, 2020, he independently published “DKT.” Since making a name for himself in the music industry, Oxlade has worked with numerous Nigerian and international singers, such as Davido, Ms. Banks, Ice Prince, and others. Sipho Dlamini’s Coming 2 America studio album, which was released on March 5, 2021 through Def Jam Recording, features Oxlade on the song “Overdue.” Since he gained notoriety, Oxlade has persisted in breaking barriers as an artist in the Nigerian entertainment sector.
