Rema is a brand ambassador, rapper, singer, and performer from Nigeria. The real name of Rema is Divine Ikubor. After signing with the Jonzing World record company and releasing the song Dumebi, he became famous. He has two albums out: Rema Compilation and Rave & Roses (2022). (2020). Rema has one of the largest fan bases in Nigeria, referred to as Ravers. This comes from his Afrorave musical style, which combines Afrobeats with elements of Indian and Arabian music. With more than 4 million followers on Twitter and Instagram, he has established a sizable following there. In September 2021, he served as a Pepsi brand ambassador alongside his labelmate Ayra Starr.

On May 1st, 2000, Rema was born in Benin City, Edo State. The young rapper was raised in a Christian home, which enabled him to use his vocal abilities when he was in school. Before 2018, Rema’s name was hardly known to anyone. He gained notoriety after uploading a freestyle video to the song “Gucci Gang” by D’Prince. D’Prince decided to sign Rema to his record label after viewing the video. Following the release of the video, Rema inked a deal with Mavin Records’ subsidiary Jonzing World, which D’Prince created. After the artist’s smash hit “Iron Man,” which was included on Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist, Rema’s brand name gained popularity.

As she pointed out how well he gets along with Bayanni in the studio and described Boy Spyce as an artist who is just mellow, Rema said that they all connected on different levels. The Mavin Dynasty has recently grown into a formidable force, with some of the most promising emerging artists representing the label. Growing up, Divine Ikubor listened to both mainstream rap and Afrobeat. His passion in music unexpectedly changed when he published a video of himself freestyling to an instrumental version of D’Prince’s “Gucci Gang” in February 2018. He had joined a rap group with friends from his church. Rema signed with Mavin, the Lagos-based label controlled by Don Jazzy, D’Prince’s brother, after D’Prince watched the video and contacted her. Mavin had released “Gucci Gang.” In 2019, Rema released the four-track EPs Rema, Freestyle, and Bad Commando. He was also featured on songs by D’Prince, Thutmose, Peter Maxx, and Mavins, a Mavin label collective. Rema made his professional debut in this year. The EP’s lead hit, “Dumebi,” did extremely well both domestically and internationally. When another song by Rema, “Iron Man,” appeared on Barack & Michelle Obama’s Summer Playlist 2019, which was published in August on Twitter, more people became aware of her. His EPs were collected and released as the Three EP in 2020.
In 2021, Rema used the term “Afrorave” to describe the fusion of Indian and Arabian music with the Afrobeats genre. In 2022, he released his debut full-length, Rave & Roses, which included 6LACK, Chris Brown, and AJ Tracey among others.

Rema’s Awards
Rema has been nominated and awarded in numerous award categories. Rema got the Next Rated Award on October 19. Zlatan, Fireboy DML, Joeboy, and other nominees were beaten out by Rema for the honor. The Headies, BET, and Soundcity awards have all nominated him. Burna Boy and Wizkid were both up for consideration in the BET’s Best International Act category, along with Rema.
