“When you focus on your focus, you will soon be the focus of those around you”
-Andrew Ajeigbe
Multitalented entrepreneurs are people that are gifted in more than one area of endevours. They have the capacity to combine so many things together. They are usually go-getters and very busy people.
However, they struggle with the challenge of what to do and when to do them. Most of the time, they are not well organized in their activities. One major solution to this problem is called FOCUS. It could be explained in this acronym (Follow One Course Until you Succeed).
Most people have more than one gift or talent they can explore. God has created us in such a way that He deposited one or two gifts or talents in us. Out of many things you can do, you have to start with one thing first and be focused. After you have been established in that one thing then you can do other things, that is, develop other talents.
There is always one thing that is at the top of your priorities, that is what you should do now. For example, an artist with the gift of event decoration and is also a lawyer, or a singer that is also a writer at the same time a fashion designer, or a footballer that has gift in standup comedy and he is also a business man.
Bishop David Oyedepo started life by growing a church. As he focused on this one assignment, he started writing books for publication; he continued to build universities and other edifice. He is still growing this church but other things start giving expression in his life. That is power of focus.
Your assignment is to discover that dominant passion or gift in your life and focus on it. Give it all it requires to grow. I believe the following steps will help you:
1. Write out all your gifts and talents, also your passions and other opportunities available to you.
“When you write down your ideas you automatically focus your full attention
on them. Few if any of us can write one thought and think another at the same
time. Thus a pencil and paper make excellent concentration tools.”
– Michael Leboeuf
2. Identify the most dominant passion and gift in your life and the available resources to make them happen
“One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.”
– Anthony Robbins
3. Start out and achieve maximum satisfaction on the utilization of the gift before you add other things to it.
“If you stay focused and right on track, you will get to where you want to be.”
– Michelle C. Ustaszeski
“The sun’s energy warms the world. But when you focus it through a
magnifying glass it can start a fire. Focus is so powerful!” – Alan Pariser
Being focused helps in concentrating your energy. As an entrepreneur at the beginning, you have to focus on one type of business and its derivatives. Once you are established, you can now add other businesses.
Your vision may be wide, your idea may be big, but as you work conscientiously, diligently, trusting God, God will stream line it and will bring you to the place of wealth.
