Oluwatobiloba Ayomide Amusan popularly known as Tobi Amusan, she was born on 23rd of April in 1997(25 years). Tobi Amusan is an origin of ijebu-ode, Ogun state
is a Nigerian track and field athlete although she specialises in the 100 metres hurdles and also contends as a sprinter. Tobi achieved the world athletics championships 2022 in the 100 metres female hurdles 100 gold medal, setting a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal, then a 12.06 seconds record in the final to take the gold medal.
Ayomide weighs 57 kgs and her height is 5ft 1in. Her coach is Mika Laaksonen, Lacena Golding-Clarke and Buka Tigers coach.
Tobi Amusan sustained a foot injury (plantar fasciitis) which prompted her to start wearing ultra-springy long-distance shoes. instead of sprint spikes for comfort.

Ayomide completed her secondary education in Nigeria at Our Lady of Apostles secondary school in Ijebu Ode before moving to USA for her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)

Tobi Amusan began her running career at age 15 when she competed and won an inter-house 100 meter sprint competition, Ayomide was inspired to take up the sport.
Tobi Amusan exhibited tons of athletic capability from an early age. In 2013, Tobi Amusan won a silver medal at the African Youth Championships.
As a freshman at The University of Texas at El Paso, (UTEP) in 2016, Tobi Amusan became the second athlete for her university to become C-USA Female track athlete of the that year since UTEP has joined the C-USA
She ran her personal best in 60 meters hurdles
That same year, 2016, Tobi also competed in the World junior Championships in Bydgoszcz. She finished fifth in the final, despite being the second-fastest time ever.
And, she went on to compete for Nigeria in the Rio Olympic Games, and got to the semifinals of the 100meter hurdles.
Tobi Amusan also won Commonwealth 2018 and 2018 African champion and is also a two-time African Games champion in the event. She finalized the Diamond League Trophy in Zurich held in 2021 in the 100m hurdles. Her athletic capacity was seen from a very young age.
In her first outdoor race of 2017, she again ran lifetime best and UTEP record of 12.63 s in the 100 meters hurdles. Ayomide also represented Nigeria at the World Championships in London later in that year 2017.
At the 2019 World Championships Doha, Qatar, on October 5, 2019, Ayomide ran a personal best of 12.48 seconds during the 100 meters hurdles qualifying rounds. In the semi-finals the following day, she equaled her personal best before seating 4th a few hours later in the final with 12.49 seconds.
Tobi also won a bronze medal with her teammates Blessing Okagbare, Joy Udo-Gabriel, Rosemary Chukwuma in the 4 x 100 meter relay.
Tobi entered the World Championships 2022 as a medal contender. Tobi ran a new personal best of 12.40s, bettering her old record by 0.01s. In the semifinal, she set a new world record of 12.12s in all-time history.
She prevailed her time once again in the final after running 12.06s. She became one of the first Nigerians to win a world title. Which stirs everyone…

This new record time makes Tobi Amusan third in the world, putting her behind world leader Jasmine Camacho-Quin(12.37s) and Alaysha Johnson (12.40s)
TOBI AMUSAN’S FAMILY
Mr and Mrs Amusan are Tobi’s parents and are indigenes of Ijebu-ode, Ogun state. They were to run an origin, although their name was not known.
Tobi Amusan is the last of three children of her Parents.
Kehinde Amusan being the father of Tobi Amusan disclosed how he was not in support of his daughter engaging in sporting activities back then, although her mother was in full support of it, he stated clearly that all he wanted for Ayomide was to study medicine.
Ayomide also claimed that he limited her time at the stadium, but she used to sneak there because her mother would say she was at church….
Amusan’s both parents are teachers hence, the strict brought up..
However, Tobi Amusan’s talent forced her parents to later support her despite challenges on how to pay tuition fees.
Tobi’s mother’s lies paid off in 2013, when Amusan qualified to participate for Nigeria in the African Youth championships and won a silver medal in the 200m.

Tobi Amusan is not married yet and also currently single, there is no publicly available report of her romantic life.
Tobi Amusan has now turned the “new bride” of all Nigerian men. She has attracted any suitors online due to her new record in the 100m women’s hurdles..
While congratulating her for the new champion, some men took the opportunity to proclaim their love for her.
Among them is “SEYI ALAO” who claimed to be Tobi’s ex boyfriend wrote, “Hello Tobi, it’s your ex-boyfriend back in Ijebu Ode.”
And also “Seyi pounds” said “Congratulations baby girl!!! If I knew you would break this record, I swear I wouldn’t break up with you!!! Can we start over again please?”
A user with the name AWL, also wrote, “Tobi do you remember me? We sat together in primary school. I’ve always had a crush on you, text me”
Akin Joshua, who seems to be ready for marriage, asked, “ Congratulations my baby girl. How much is your bride price again?”
