UNTAPPED BUSINESSES IN NIGERIA
Nigeria is earning more money, yet the country’s unemployment rate remains high. Because of the country’s economic position, many people who want to start a business are unable to do so. Many people aspire to start their businesses and become affluent. Unfortunately, the inadequate economic system and fierce competition have left many people undecided about which path to take. Relax as I introduce you to some unexplored Nigerian businesses into which you can invest and succeed.
- Agriculture business:
With the country’s current predicament, the agricultural sector is the only one that has the potential to contribute more to the economy while remaining undeveloped. Agriculture was the country’s main source of income until the early 1990s when attention moved to petroleum and its products. The following are some examples of areas in the agriculture industry that are yet to be explored:
- Pig farming (the practice of growing and breeding domestic pigs for use as livestock)
- Apiculture (Honey Bee Farming)
- Poultry Farming (growing domesticated birds such as chickens, ducks, turkeys, and other poultry for the express purpose of supplying meat or eggs for the population)
- Aquaculture (Fish Farming)
- Heliciculture (Snail Farming)
- Cassava Farming
- Rice Farming
- Garri production
- Tomato Farming
- Palm oil production
- Consultancy Services:
Consultancy is one of the few businesses that you may start without spending any money. As a consultant, you’ll provide professional advice, assistance, and concrete solutions to firms or business owners who are having problems, and you’ll get compensated for doing so. You might also start by putting up a free or paid online teaching where you teach a few technical skills required in a specific feed, then use it as a platform to promote yourself and start making money.
- Food Business:
Humans are obligated to eat. There is no such thing as a superman who refuses to eat. The food industry is still a lucrative one that hasn’t been fully exploited. It could be cooked or uncooked food. It will find a market as long as it is food. All that is required is the correct place, the appropriate abilities, and the appropriate people. This is a 365-day-a-year operation. It is constantly in high demand.
- Running Errands Business/Delivery Service Business:
You can help those who don’t have enough time to run their errands by running errands for them. Cleaning, washing, grocery shopping, and other such duties can range from easy to complex. You can opt to specialize in one type of errand that you perform for various people. You can also become an in-person delivery service provider by making door-to-door deliveries on behalf of vendors.
- Affiliate Marketing Business:
Although the affiliate marketing business is one of the highest-paying online jobs, it is still waiting to be tapped into because only a few people are aware of this opportunity. The exchange of valuable goods and services for money is known as affiliate marketing. The values can be ideas, clothes, knowledge, information, and so on. In essence, you do not need to own a shop or a store; instead, you simply recommend useful information or products to people who need them and can afford them, and you earn a commission after a successful sale (s).

- Writing Business:
Writing is a creative business that has largely gone untapped. Of course, some people have begun to do things with writing, but the field remains untapped because it has such a broad range of influence that it has not been adequately covered. Many publishers now contract out their writing projects. You can concentrate on any aspect of writing, such as ghostwriting, content writing, copywriting, research writing, article writing, CV writing, proposal writing, and so on. Whatever you choose to do, if you put in your best effort, you will be successful.
- Transportation Business:
Many times, the transportation system in each city or state is so inconvenient and embarrassing that people would rather hire a car service than use public transportation. What if you run a car rental service where you could transport individuals, groups of people, serve as an escort for guests on trips, and so on? Many people believe that this business does not appear to be official, but it will undoubtedly generate revenue. All you need is a car, new or used, as long as it can move on the road. This is a highly profitable business idea, and while only a few explorers have ventured down that path, you can as well.
- Soap Making Business:
Even though the soap-making business has been around for a long time, there is still a high demand for it. In the meantime, the materials are not difficult to obtain. You are not required to produce the same type of soap that is currently popular; instead, you can be creative with yours and have a different shape. You will find a market as long as it serves the purpose of washing and cleaning.
- Hair making:
It is funny how some people have excellent weaving skills but fail to recognize that the hair-making industry has yet to be fully exploited. Anyone can become a hairstylist as long as they are skilled at what they do. An average Nigerian is too busy these days to go to a salon; you can provide home service and earn money for people like this. You don’t have to start big; just start small, and before you know it, it’s grown into something big.
Other businesses that remain untapped in Nigeria include recycling business, blogging business, mini importation, real estate business, mobile fruit juice production, cleaning and laundry services, online video making business, logistics services to mention but a few.
That’s all there is to it! Some untapped businesses in Nigeria are just waiting for you to take advantage of them. It is past time that you began paying attention to these businesses before they are all tapped out and you are left with nothing to do.
